RAWALPINDI: On Thursday, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Director General Saif Anwar Jappa mandated that anything pertaining to private housing developments must first have the authority’s no-objection certificate (NOC).
After following the proper procedures, the RDA (Government of Punjab) can grant authorization or a no-objection certificate (NOC) to private housing schemes and cases of land sub-division in compliance with housing department directives.
Many developers routinely publicize their private home designs and examples of land subdivisions without the RDA’s prior approval or permission.
RDA has already raised this concern with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take action against people and organizations who publish television advertisements on social media to sell plots of illegal and unapproved private housing schemes.
RDA advises the general public in their own interest that they should not make any investment in illegal housing schemes. Moreover, the sponsors are also warned immediately to stop the marketing of their unapproved/illegal housing schemes and should contact RDA for getting approval of the scheme as per law, otherwise, strict legal action will be taken against them.
